HAZARDOUS AREA ENVIRONMENTS

In Industrial IoT, plant and/or field areas that are exposed to ignitable concentrations of flammable gas, vapor and/or dust where an electrical spark could cause a hazardous explosion are classified as “hazardous” areas. Today’s industrial enterprises are looking to keep their assets protected and ensure workers are operating in safe conditions.

CHALLENGES FACING TODAY’S INDUSTRIAL IOT ENTERPRISES

To keep worksites operating safely in hazardous areas, today’s industrial IoT manufacturers are looking for ways to increase efficiency, productivity and still keep workers safe.

Cassia Networks works with Smart IIoT equipment manufacturers to help them overcome these challenges and to provide the competitive edge they need to reach their business goals. Cassia’s ATX2000 Bluetooth Gateway for hazardous areas provides companies in various IIoT sectors with a product uniquely designed for hazardous area to enable smart IIoT solutions such as Condition Monitoring, Predictive Maintenance as well as Personnel & Asset Tracking solutions.

INTRODUCING THE POWER OF INNOVATION: CASSIA’S ATX2000 BLUTOOTH GATEWAY FOR HAZARDOUS AREAS

Cassia’s ATX2000 Bluetooth gateway is IP66 and NEMA 4 rated and fully certified for Zone 2, 22 and Division 2 hazardous areas. With a ruggedized enclosure and marine grade copper-free aluminum alloy material, the ATX2000 is designed to withstand the harshest outdoor environments.

Cassia’s ATX2000 extends Bluetooth connectivity up to 1 km with Bluetooth 5.0 (in open space) and provides enables remote control of up to 40 Bluetooth Low Energy devices (and hundreds in broadcast mode) without requiring any changes to end devices. Solution providers benefit from lower deployment and equipment costs allowing for a greater ROI.

And, in conjunction with Cassia’s IoT Access Controller (AC), a powerful management software tool, end-users can easily manage hundreds of gateways from one centralized interface.

APPLICATIONS

  • Cassia’s Bluetooth gateways can connect to any Bluteooth Low Energy device such as a sensor for motors
  • The gateway collects data from the Bluetooth devices and sends data to the internet or local server
  • The end user can easily monitor device data in real-time from multiple sensors simultaneously

Benefits:

  • Continuous Monitoring - ability to provide machine operators and IT professionals easy access to Bluteooth Low Energy sensor data in real-time
  • Seamless Coverage - Cassia’s ATX2000 Bluetooth gateway provide seamless coverage for large outdoor hazardous area environments allowing operation staff to move freely and safely throughout a location while equipment is continuously monitored
  • Easy Deployment / Management - Cassia’s IoT controller software platform allows for easy setup and management of Bluetooth gateways and monitoring of end devices
  • Long-Range Connectivity– extend Bluetooth connectivity up to 400 meters for Bluetooth 4.0 and up to 1 km using Bluetooth 5.0 in open spaces
  • Multiple Device Asset Tracking & Monitoring - connect and control up 40 Bluteooth Low Energy devices per gateway simultaneously and/or listen to hundreds of devices in Broadcast mode
  • Low Cost - one-time cost of hardware and low monthly software controller (device management) fees
  • Security - Integrated TPM chip for end-to-end security
  • Bluetooth Locationing - track device failure and receive alerts in the event a device will fail, reducing equipment downtime
  • Data Collection - collect critical data from equipment without the need of a machine operator being present
